The Meeting was called to order by Assistant RE, Dave Hester as Gerald Street had a previous commitment. Minutes: Minutes from the September 4, 2008 CRSCCA Meeting were approved. Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer’s Report for September, 2008 was presented. It was also noted that due to our financial bottom line, the Region would be required to prepare a fall tax return. Gail and Bill Perry will get together with Gerald Street to complete the report. Committee Reports: Track Trials: Bill Perry stated that the Region was still working with Nashville SuperSpeedway regarding the 2007 contract and the disputed amount. Rick Burdett of NSS has agreed to the Chattanooga Region paying one-half of the $2,857 they have been requested. Chattanooga Region has already paid $800 per the disputed contract. After discussion, Chuck Fullgraf moved that the Region pay the $1,350 to Nashville SuperSpeedway to conclude the matter. Jennifer Dobler seconded and the motion carried. This will conclude the 2007 contract. Anticipated costs for track rental for the proposed May 16-17, 2000 Time Trials is $7,000 with deposit due in January, 2009. Club Race: Projected dates are June 26, (Track Day), June 27 and 28, 2009 for the double SARRC. Bill wants the Board to sign off on the contracts as they are negotiated. Solo: Scott and Jennifer Dobler provided a report on the September Street Survival School and Solo. The Street Survival School publicity was on Channels 3, and 12 and the event was a resounding success. Patrick White purchased the radios per the September motion and they worked well. Many kudos to all that put in their time and effort into making this event the success it was. The next Street Survival School will be held October 18th at Chattanooga State. BMW has stated they will sponsor all three schools and there are 12 signed up for the event. Michelin Tires wants to get involved and plan to attend the school first. The Doblers are looking at worker perks – workers are needed. Email Jennifer Dobler if you are willing to instruct at the event. A representative from Jackson County, AL has been in contact with Jennifer wanting a school held in their county. RallyCross: National Championship will be Oct. 24-26 at Nashville SuperSpeedway. Road Racing: Chuck Fullgraf gave a race report. As expected, Vesa Silegren took first in ITC with Chuck taking second. Congratulations!!! Michael Hartberger started in 3rd in Spec Miata and ended up 26th. The ARRC will be the first weekend in November with Chuck, Will Perry, and Art Thompson planning to attend. Old Business: None. New Business: Discussion was held whether dues should be increased. Bill Perry moved with Briana Dobler seconding that the Chattanooga Region due remain the same. Elections. MINUTES Minutes: Minutes from August 14, 2008 Chattanooga Region SCCA Meeting were approved. Treasurer’s Report: Gerald Street presented the Treasurer’s Report received from Gail Perry. Treasurer’s Report was approved. Committee Reports. Track Trials: No updates. Solo. Trophy cost being negotiated. Street Survival School preps are in process – 15 + entries; radio advertising soon; Doblers will be on TALK Radio; BMW is sponsoring; 8 + instructors; mtg Thur. 7 PM the 11th at Chattanooga State; setting up water truck; expenses should be reimbursed. School begins at 8:30 and everyone should arrive at 7 AM. Next Solo will be at Chattanooga State on Sept. 14, 2008. RallyCross: Next event will be November 29, which is after Nationals which will be Oct. 25th. Road Racing. No updated. Old Business. Scott Dobler made a motion that Patrick White work on pricing and purchasing 6 radios by September 13th with a cap at $350.00. Seconded by David Hester. Motion carried. Gerald Street is having fire extinguishers recharged. New Business. Need more cones (100) and van needs purging. SCCA Chattanooga Region Present: 8 members BUSINESS: Minutes: Minutes from July 10, 2008 were approved. Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer’s Report was approved. Expenses from Time Trials and Road Race are complete. Track Trials: No firm schedule for 2009. Bill Perry to contact Huntsville to discuss possible dates – potentially May 16-17, 2009. Solo: Next event will be August 23rd at Chattanooga State. Staging needs to be handled differently as there was crowding from CS’s sports teams. Sept. 13 is Street Survival – lots of interest; Sept. 14 is the Solo event. Supplies needed – trophies ordered. Gerald Street to check the van overheating issue. RallyCross: August 16th event cancelled due to dust problems. Road Racing: Potential dates for 2009 at NSS is June 26 (test day), June 27-28. Old Business: None. New Business: 1. Workers needed for Crow Mountain – Sept. 27-28. 2. Region of the Year – Discussion to nominate ourselves – Gerald will complete paperwork when received. 3. Anthony Henderson suggested that the Region rethink the Harvey Templeton Award System. After discussion, it was decided that Anthony would present a few proposals at our October meeting. Treasurer’s Report: Gail Perry presented the Treasurer’s Report stating almost all of the expenses related to the Track Trials and Road Race have been paid. There is still an issue to be determined regarding the final Time Trials payment. Committee Reports. Track Trials: See Road Race. Solo. The night event at Chattanooga State went well. There was a car show early in the day at Sears which doubled Sear’s business and they were so grateful they gave the Region door prizes (very nice ones) for the evening event. Then was the Big-Wheel Race which had five entries and was enjoyed by all. The actual Solo event was a huge success and lasted after 2:00 AM. Acura-Legend event was July 4th weekend with a good turnout and much interest. Needs are for full-face helmets as they need replacing. Troy will donate one soon. Trophies also need to be replaced and there are only four (4) radios that still work. Next event at Dade County on July 26th. Street Survival School will be held Setp. 13. Need workers and instructors, registration is open online and there needs to be promotion of the event. Also need cones; PA System & FM modulator. Casey and Ray will be donating equipment soon. RallyCross: Good event – with 9 participants. Road Racing. Heart of Dixie was a success with 80 cars and 100 plus drivers. The committee wants it to be held again. Discussion was held when to have the next Road Race with June 26, 27, and 28 tentatively agreed as a test day on Friday and double event on Saturday and Sunday. David McDaniel moved that the event would hold a Test Day, Double SARRC and Enduro. Gerald Street seconded. Discussion held and motion superceded as follows: David McDaniel moved that the event would consist of a Friday Test Day; Saturday race and Enduro and PDX and Sunday race. Gerald Street seconded. Motion passed. It was decided to have the same Committee run the event as they do it so very well. Bob Forsten, Chattanooga Region’s Flag Chief has asked that we look for a new flag chief as he wants to slow down. Discussion held on possible individuals, particularly Miles and/or Eden Phillips of the Alabama Region. Old Business. None. New Business. Scott Dobler provided information on the possible awards (glasses, mugs, etc.). After discussion, David McDaniel moved to give Scott Dobler a budget of $600 to procure glasses (including shipping and handling). Bill Perry seconded. Motion passed. MINUTES Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer’s Report for May, 2008 was presented: Committee Reports: Track Trials: Event was a success and made a profit. Club Race: Everything is on schedule. Paddock will open at 2 PM. TVR is taking care of worker lunches. Need three more 12v batteries. TVR is bringing radios to supplement what the Perry’s will bring and Nashville supplies. Solo: June 28th will be the night solo at Chattanooga State with the solo school being held in the afternoon and a big wheel race held prior to the solo event. The two canopies have been purchased, Gerald Street is checking to see if he can buy four fire bottles from Komatsu fire people and is also making four red flags for the event. Scott Dobler stated the Accura-Legend event is a go for July 4th weekend and the Doblers’ have everything in-hand. RallyCross: The next event is July 5th. Gerald delivered supplies as follows: three canopies, four fire bottles, four red flags, waiver forms, armbands, weekend membership forms, minor waiver forms and two clipboards. Radios will be shared until the budget allows purchase of more. Road Racing: The next event is Road Atlanta on July 19-20, then Barber Motorsports Park in August. Old Business: None. New Business: One damages red canopy will be savaged as usable parts. David McDaniel moved to reimburse DC Cardinelli’s truck window expense in the amount of $250 as a thank-you from our Region for his support for our Nashville events. Gerald Street seconded and motion carried. Early discussion of moving the date of next year’s Nashville Time Trials to the 1st week in May or 1 weekend in June with the 4th weekend as Club Race? More discussion to come at the next meeting. Next Meeting: After discussion, it was decided to hold next month’s meeting at Rib & Loin on Brainerd Road at 6:30 pm on July 10th to allow anyone who wanted to play next door at Sir Gooney’s after the opportunity to do so. MINUTES Minutes: Minutes from April 3, 2008 Chattanooga Region SCCA Meeting were approved. Treasurer’s Report: Gail Perry presented the Treasurer’s Report stating that a number of expenses have been paid in relation to the upcoming track trials and road race. Committee Reports. Track Trials: David McDaniel said the insurance forms have been sent in and that we need more workers. He is working on worker perks. Regarding the budget, he is allocating $100-125 for the social and $50 for worker drinks (Pepsi products only); and the trophy budget at $200. Bill Perry advised that we wouldn’t be able to access the track until Saturday at 1 AM as Nashville has a drag-strip event on Friday. Club Racing: Bill Perry is building scales for the event. Worker perks are coming along. Still need workers!!! Worker lunches are $9 with a number of options. Solo. Solo school on Saturday – cost of $45 which includes food and water and $10 off entry fee for Sunday’s event. Karts will participate in the school. Doblers are creating a “Chattanooga State Student of the Year Award” which will hopefully get students to do more than show up, race, and leave. June 28 will be the night solo which begins at 9 PM and will be called “Hot Summer Nights Solo” – everyone is encouraged to ‘go Hawaiian”. Street Survival School is Sept. 13. RallyCross: First RallyCross event for our Region is May 24. Dave still needs supplies – cones, flags, radios, fire extinguishers, awning, etc. Gerald will get supplies to Dave after the Solo event. Road Racing. Roebling Road was the most recent event with Will Perry, Vesa Siligren, Efren Ormaza, Chuck Fullgraf, and Michael Hartberger participating. Lots of hard racing and occasional metal to metal, unfortunately mostly on Will. Read Bill Perry’s race report on the forum for details. Saturday:
Sunday: Old Business. National Acura Legal Run’s Solo portion on July 4th weekend is a go. Scott Dobler stated the event will be either Saturday AM or Sunday PM at a cost of $45 per entrant. They are expecting about 15-20 entrants. New Business. None. Next Meeting Location: Chattanooga State, June 5th at 7:00 PM – 6:30 for videos. ADDENDUM: Location required to be changed to Komatsu for this meeting.

MINUTES Minutes: Minutes from March 6, 2008 Chattanooga Region SCCA Meeting were approved. Treasurer’s Report: Gail Perry presented the Treasurer’s Report and stated that she has sent an itemization of TT expenditures to the TVR region. Committee Reports. Track Trials: David McDaniel was unable to be at the meeting, but phoned in his report to Bill Perry. Nashville SS lunches will be as last year with tickets for different lunches. The menu will be slightly expanded and the vendor agreed to the Region providing drinks for workers only as long as they are Pepsi products. The hotel is not determined, but the Sleep Inn has expressed an interest to host the Region. Discussion regarding 75 rooms at the Sleep Inn but we will let TVR make the arrangements. We need workers and worker giveaways. Club Racing: DOBRacing.com is open for registration. Workers will register through them also. The supps have been approved. Safe Quip will be the sole event vendor and will provide discount items. The Sanction Number has been issued (and reissued). Charles Long will maintain lights during the Enduro. Need flyers for both events. Solo. At the year’s first event in Dade County, there were 13 members signed up with 31 attending the event. The Mentor and Worker programs were announced. Upcoming events include a Solo School in May at Dade County and a night event in June at Chattanooga State. Mercedes Benz has shown interest in working with the Region at the Street Survival Schools. BMW is ready to write a check for the schools. The schedule now shows 11 solo events. RallyCross: Decisions to be made about what the trailer needs are besides a fire extinguisher. Gerald made a short list. Road Racing. Our Region was represented by Chuck Fullgraf at the CMP event last weekend. Efren Ormaza and Dave Hester were DNS – Efren with the trailer axle breaking outside of Atlanta on his way to the event and Dave’s car isn’t ready yet. Chuck did the Region proud placing 3rd both days. Anthony Henderson and Patrick White were in training at Road Atlanta – Anthony as Black Flag Steward and Patrick running the pits. Old Business. None. New Business. Scott Dobler will be making flyers. Also will be talking to Lee Horton who has expressed interest in Chattanooga Region participating/putting on a autocross for Acura’s July 4th Weekend events. After discussion, it was decided nothing would be decided until Scott received some answers to questions. At that point, the Region will make a determination. Treasurer’s Report: Gail Perry presented the Treasurer’s Report and stated that the tax report had been sent in and the report was approved. Committee Reports. Track Trials: David McDaniel stated that he was confirming with Rick at Nashville SuperSpeedway that Nashville Food Vending was still the authorized vendor for the track. On pricing for postcards, a mailing of 500 would be $290; or a disc with names and addresses would be $35. David will check with CCR to see about the possibility of splitting the cost of the mailing. Bill Perry stated that $1000 deposit was due next month and that Gail Perry needed help with worker registration at the track trials. Club Racing: Bill Perry moved as follows: “Designate three members to the “NSS Race Committee” from Chattanooga Region, SCCA. Tennessee Valley Region, SCCA will also be requested to designate an equal number of members to this committee at their meeting next week. This committee will have authority to make arrangements and expend funds as necessary to Sanction and operate a race at Nashville Superspeedway in June, 2008. It is agreed that Chattanooga Region and Tennessee Valley Region, SCCA will share equally all expenses and income related tot his race.
It is further moved that Chuck Fullgraf, Gail Perry and Bill Perry be designated as Chattanooga Region representatives to this committee.” After discussion, Gerald Street and David McDaniel seconded, motion carried unanimously. Solo. Event Schedule: The proposed Event Schedule has been approved. Trophy glasses were ordered and at the meeting – consensus was that they look great. Driving Schools: Dade County may want to be involved in the Driving Schools – this will be discussed by Gerald Street. Van & Storage Trailer Update: The costs to repair the van will be $1,000. RallyCross: There are four events set for 2008. The trailer need supplies. Gerald will talk with the pastor regarding holding a Student Rallycross at Brainerd Baptist’s soccer field. We could possibly use this event as a solo promo. Road Racing. Efren Ormaza, Dave Hester & Chuck Fullgraf are planning to run CMP’s event. Patrick White is setting into Pit Chief duties. Old Business. Scott Dobler stated the new T-Shirts will run approximately $7.50 ea at cost for 144 shirts. The Region would sell them at $15.00 ea. New Business. None. Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer’s Report prepared by Gail Perry was approved. Committee Reports. Track Trials: David McDaniel provided the following. We now have a Sanction #08TT01P. We are getting 28 transponders at $200 & shipping and handling both ways - $40 rental. We need to order brackets. Approval to order pack of 50 brackets. David will post up to websites and wants everyone who can to do the same. Dave Hester was volunteered and Scott Dobler volunteered to help. Club Racing: Bill Perry provided the following. Supps are being prepared. We can have 39 cars maximum for the Enduro; and we need 70 SARRC and 20 Enduro entries to break even. June 27 and 28, 2009 is penciled in for Nashville. We still need workers. After discussion, Scott Dobler was asked to check into creating postcards for both TT and Club Racing events – costs have been estimated at #35 for 500 printed labels. Also checking into trophy company for a combined purchase. Solo. The proposed schedule has been presented to Jimmy Jones at Chattanooga State and Lynne at Dade County for approval. Proposed fee changes to $30 members, $45 non-members, Pro Class at $40.00. The Doblers presented a Mentor Program with member providing help to entrant for three consistent events and earning a free event. Driving School: Doblers would like our Region to put on 3 events – May, Sept., and November. Van & Storage Update – Still looking for feasible locations. The Doblers are closer to having the culvert placed on their property which would allow van storage. RallyCross. There will be 4 events for 2008, but dates won’t be set until other Regions have their schedules in place. Road Racing. Bill & Gail Perry went to Robling Road’s Driving School in January – they said there were 79 students and the event went well. Old Business. None. New Business. None. SCCA Chattanooga Region Treasurer’s Report. Treasurer’s Report for December 2007 was presented: Nashville June 14-15 Event. Bill Perry stated that after his many meetings & telephone calls, everything seemed to be in order per prior discussions for the Chattanooga Region’s participation on the June 14-15 Nashville event. Gerald Street moved and Anthony Henderson seconded that the Chattanooga Region co-sanction the June 14-15, 2008 Nashville event with all that entails. Motion unanimously passed. Monthly Meeting. Upon discussion, David McDaniel moved and Ruth Henderson seconded that our monthly meeting could be moved to the first Thursday of the month. Motion passed. Date and location of next meeting: Thursday, February 7th at 7:00 at Chattanooga State, C17 (Center for Advanced Technology, Room C17 / Renaissance Center).
